1. Introduction

Welcome to TAPED Hub. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the TAPED Hub website at www.tapedhub.com, our free educational content, our Interactive Labs, our courses, and any subscription plans we offer (together, the "Services").

 

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services. These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your personal data.

 

2. Who we are

TAPED Hub ("we", "us", "our") is an educational platform for audio engineering and music production, created by audio professionals and educators and operated from the United Kingdom. We offer a free knowledge base, including step-by-step Technique Guides, encyclopaedia style entries and media content; browser-based learning tools called Interactive Labs; and a growing library of courses, some free and some paid. We also plan to introduce subscription plans that give members ongoing access to course content.

3. Using TAPED Hub

Our core resources are free to use for your own personal learning, teaching preparation and professional development. You may view, read and use our content online, and print or save individual pages for your own non-commercial reference.

 

If you are under 18, please make sure a parent, guardian or teacher is happy for you to use the Services. Paid courses and subscriptions are only available to users aged 18 or over, or to younger users with the consent of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms on their behalf.

 

4. Your account

Some features require you to sign up for a free member account. When you do, please give accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity that takes place under your account. If you think someone else has accessed your account, let us know straight away at contact@tapedhub.com.

 

You can close your account at any time by contacting us. Closing your account does not affect any rights you have to a refund under section 5.

 

5. Courses and subscriptions

Where we offer paid courses or subscription plans, the price, what is included and, for subscriptions, the billing period and renewal terms will be shown clearly before you pay. Prices are in pounds sterling unless stated otherwise. Payments are processed securely by our third-party payment providers; we do not store your full card details.

 

Subscriptions. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and your access will continue until the end of the period you have already paid for. We will give you reasonable notice before any price change takes effect, and you can cancel before it applies.

 

Your right to cancel. If you are a consumer in the UK, you normally have 14 days from purchase to cancel and receive a full refund. Because courses are digital content, when you start accessing a paid course within those 14 days you will be asked to agree that you lose this right to cancel once access begins. This does not affect your statutory rights: if a course is faulty or not as described, you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

 

Course access. Paid course content is licensed to you personally. Please do not share your login, or copy, resell or redistribute course materials.

 

6. Donations

Donations are voluntary, one-off contributions towards hosting, software, writer time and audio production for the site. A donation does not buy any goods, services or extra rights, and does not create a contract for us to provide anything in return. Donations are generally non-refundable, but if you have made a mistake, such as donating the wrong amount, please contact us within 14 days and we will do our best to help.

 

7. Our content and intellectual property

All content on TAPED Hub, including text, guides, diagrams, images, audio examples, videos, Interactive Labs, course materials, software, the TAPED Hub name and logo, and the design of the site, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trade mark and other intellectual property laws.

 

Educators are welcome to link to our pages and to share them with students. If you would like to reuse our content in other ways, such as in published materials, commercial courses, or on another website or platform, please ask us first at contact@tapedhub.com. Unless we agree in writing, you must not copy, reproduce, republish, sell, scrape, or create derivative works from our content, or use it to train artificial intelligence or machine learning systems.

 

Third-party product names, brands and trade marks mentioned on the site belong to their respective owners. Their mention is for educational reference only and does not imply endorsement or affiliation.

 

8. Content you share with us

If you send us feedback, topic suggestions, corrections, or other material, you confirm that you have the right to share it, and you give us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use, adapt and publish it to improve the Services. We will credit you where appropriate and where you ask us to. We may use your suggestions without any obligation to you.

 

9. Acceptable use

When using the Services, you agree not to:

  • break any law or regulation, or infringe anyone else's rights;

  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, other accounts, or our systems;

  • introduce viruses, malicious code, or anything that could harm the site or its users;

  • use automated tools to scrape, copy or download content in bulk;

  • impersonate anyone, or post or send anything that is abusive, offensive, misleading or unlawful;

  • use the Services to send spam or unsolicited advertising.

 

10. Educational information and safety

Our content is provided for general educational purposes. We work hard to keep it accurate and current, and we welcome corrections, but audio technology changes quickly and we cannot guarantee that every entry is complete, error-free or suitable for your particular equipment, project or situation.

 

Some guides involve electrical equipment, high sound levels, or the modification of hardware. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions, protect your hearing, and use a qualified technician for any work involving mains electricity or opening equipment. Any action you take based on our content is at your own risk. Nothing on TAPED Hub is professional, legal or financial advice, and mentions of products or prices are not recommendations to buy.

 

11. Third-party links and services

The Services may include links to, or embedded content from, third-party websites and platforms, such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and manufacturer sites. We do not control these and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.

 

12. Availability and changes to the Services

We aim to keep TAPED Hub available and up to date, but we do not guarantee that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted or free from errors. We may update, change, suspend or withdraw any part of the Services, including free resources, at any time. If we make a significant change to a paid course or subscription you have bought, we will tell you, and if the change is to your disadvantage you may cancel and receive a refund for any period you have paid for but not received.

 

13. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

 

Subject to that, we are not responsible for any loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable, or for loss or damage to equipment, recordings, data or projects resulting from your use of our free content. Where you have paid us for a course or subscription, our total liability to you in connection with it is limited to the amount you paid for it.

 

We are responsible for damage to your device or digital content caused by defective digital content we supply where we have failed to use reasonable care and skill, and we will repair the damage or pay you compensation. We are not responsible for damage you could have avoided by following our advice to install an update or by meeting minimum system requirements.

 

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close your account, or restrict your access to the Services, if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, or if we need to do so to protect the site, our users or our content. If we close an account with an active paid course or subscription for a reason other than your breach of these Terms, we will refund any amount paid for access you have not received.

 

15. Privacy

We handle your personal data in line with UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Please read our Privacy Policy for details of what we collect, why, and the choices and rights you have.

 

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect new features, such as subscriptions, or changes in the law. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects members or paying customers, we will let you know by email or on the site before it takes effect. If you continue to use the Services after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

 

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you have a complaint, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales, except that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.

 

If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect. If we do not enforce any of our rights straight away, we can still enforce them later.
